WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced the creation of a specialized unit designed to reinforce the nation’s immigration screening capabilities by identifying terrorists, criminal noncitizens, and other foreign nationals who may threaten public safety or have engaged in fraud or other unlawful activity. Once fully operational, the USCIS Vetting Center, based in Atlanta, will consolidate advanced vetting functions and enable the agency to adapt more quickly to an evolving threat environment.
